Asylum Seekers

  • Sweden saw an influx of asylum seekers in 2015, with more than 160,000 people seeking asylum in the country. The Swedish government implemented several policies aimed at promoting the rights of asylum seekers and ensuring that they were treated with dignity and respect.
  • One of the policies implemented by the Swedish government was to ensure the asylum seekers had access to safe housing. The government worked with several NGOs to accommodate the asylum seekers using housing in tents and other emergency shelters.
  • The government also made sure the asylum seekers had access to essential services like healthcare and education. In addition to these policies, the Swedish government also took steps to ensure that asylum seekers received fair treatment and respect.
  • The asylum seekers were provided with legal support and assistance for navigating the complex asylum application process. The government also made sure that the asylum seekers were not subjected to discrimination or harassment.
