Interdependence With Other Key Business Functions
Marketing does not occur in isolation. For example, a new marketing campaign may mean new products and greater production which might make further staff training necessary.
Operations: works closely with the marketing department to incorporate product features that consumers will respond positively to. Operations must also provide the correct resources to produce the product.
Human resources: supply the right personnel to staff the marketing project. Staff must have the right skillset to develop products within the business and cater to the needs and wants of customers.
Accounting and finance: need sufficient funds available to undertake a marketing campaign. Finance needs to provide guidance and benchmarks to ensure profits are maximised and competitiveness maintained.
